This year at CES there were a number of themes – tablets of course was the big news but they are all due in the coming months so nothing to really show right now ( and nothing to buy either) – but in the coming months we will have lots to show-The other big thing was connected TV’s but again not until Q2 or summer will be able to see these.
The next big theme was wireless connectivity especially 4G – specifically LTE from Verizon and it is a game changer – – here is a link to the pantaech modem I showed http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/controller?&item=phoneFirst&action=viewPhoneDetail&selectedPhoneId=5537&deviceCategoryId=15. $99.00
Another big theme of this year’s CES is 3D – it was 3d everywhere – TV’s, cameras camcorders even 3d cell phones and head mounted displays .
For that category I have a 2 items – first a conversion lens for the Panasonic G series cameras that is an SLR type lens that transforms the latest Panasonic cameras in to 3d shooters – http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-electronics/shop/Televisions/Full-HD-3D/model.H-FT012_11002_7000000000000005702 $249.00
Second are 3D glasses form Polaroid that you take to the movies and use instead of the plastic ones they give you – much better image you can even wear your own glasses under these if you want- they are new and available at Polaroid online as well as Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Polaroid-Premium-Glasses-Perfect-Cleaning/dp/B004EBZEDE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1294676858&sr=8-3-spell $29.99 9 (they only work at the movies not at home )
Finally because CES always has great fun gadgets I found one that tickled my fancy :
It is called the iGrill a Bluetooth enabled meat thermometer that links to your smart phone or tablet http://www.igrillinc.com/ this is kind of fun and crazy – you plug the probe into your food and then on your iPhone it will alert you as to when it is ready and will display the temperature etc . $99.99 there really is an app for everything!
